About
Google runs invite-only paid pilots for closed or offline datasets, metadata and structured facts (science, math, learning). Its largest known company-data deal was winning the Spirit Airlines bankruptcy auction for $10M in Aug 2026: about 100M emails, about 500M Teams messages, about 176K employee records and about 30M lines of code, with passenger loyalty and co-brand card data excluded. Google says an independent third party will exclude or de-identify personal information before transfer.
How the process works
- Invite-only pilots
- Bankruptcy auctions with court approval
Things to know
- No open intake for company workspace data; the partnerships page is invite-only. Realistically reachable only through large bankruptcy or auction processes.
- The Spirit deal drew objections from the flight attendants' union and a letter from 120+ members of Congress. Business Insider (2026-10-13) reported the bid had been held up; final court approval is unconfirmed.
