About
Mercor Data licenses records from Slack, Teams, Gmail, Outlook, Salesforce, GitHub, Notion, Confluence, Drive and 100+ other tools, focusing on legal, healthcare, finance and insurance, professional services, manufacturing, retail, real estate and logistics. It also cold-approaches startups that are being acquired or shutting down. Price rises with volume and number of tools and there are no fees. CEO Brendan Foody says Mercor has partnered with 300+ enterprises, paying up to $10M each. It bid for Spirit Airlines' archive (Google won).
How the process works
- Scope the data
- Connect accounts
- Automated de-identification
- Wire 2–4 weeks after signing
Things to know
- Mercor faces at least seven class actions after a third-party data breach; plaintiffs allege it encouraged contractors to share real-world examples that may have included proprietary corporate data. Mercor denies this.
- Scale AI sued Mercor for trade-secret misappropriation (Sept 2025).
- De-identification is automated with no manual review, per the register.
- The $10M ceiling comes from the CEO's X post, not a published price list. A reported ~$300K offer to Warmly appears only in secondary sources.
