Draft: review with a lawyer before launch.

What we store

The value estimator and the compare page run in your browser. We do not store what you type there. If you request quotes, we store the profile you submit:

  • Company: name, legal name, website, LinkedIn page, headquarters, year founded, industry, status, a one-line description, revenue band and ownership, and the share of your workforce in each region.
  • People: desk and non-desk headcount now and at peak, contractors, years on your current systems, and the language of your records.
  • Systems: each tool you list, with start and end years, user counts, approximate volume, how sure you are, and whether it exports easily.
  • Rights and preferences: who owns the records, any prior licence, regulated data you declare, who can sign, your export, exclusivity, licence and timeline preferences, any price you have in mind, and notes.
  • Contact: your name, role, email, phone if given, and whether you have authority to license.
  • Our estimate for your company, the buyers you ticked, the time you submitted, and the optional via value (at most 40 characters) if you arrived through a link that carries one.

The advisor form at /for-advisors stores the name, firm, role, email, number of clients per year and message you enter. Every profile contains counts and metadata only. We never ask for or receive your raw records, passwords or system access.

To slow down spam we use your IP address to rate-limit requests. That key lives briefly in server memory and is not stored in our database. Both forms also carry a hidden field that people never see; if it is filled in, the submission is silently discarded.

How long we keep it

Quote requests and advisor registrations are kept for 24 months after submission, then deleted by a scheduled job.

Who we share it with

Only with the buyers you ticked. For buyers that accept an introduction, we pass your profile on by hand. For buyers you apply to yourself, the buyer receives nothing from us. Any price you have in mind is for our own triage and is never shared. We use Supabase to store submissions and Resend to email each new submission to the Minewell owner. We do not sell your information. Some buyers pay us a referral fee if you sign with them; see the disclosure.

Referral click logs

When you follow a link to a buyer through Minewell, we log the buyer, whether it is a referral partner, the part of the site the link was on, the address of the page you came from and the time. The log holds no name, email or IP address.

Your browser

  • Your in-progress quote form is kept on your device in local storage (minewell.quote.v1) so you can come back to it, and is removed when you submit. Your quote result is held in session storage (minewell.quote.result.v1) for the confirmation page and clears when you close the tab.
  • Buyers you add to compare are remembered on your device in local storage (minewell.compare.v1). The filters on the Learn page live in the page address and are not sent to us.
  • Minewell sets no cookies.
  • The Learn page embeds posts from X. Our server fetches each post's text when it builds the page, so that text does not involve your browser. The images and avatars in those posts load in your browser from X's own servers when you open the page, so X can receive your IP address and apply its own cookies and privacy policy.
  • Video cards on the Learn page and the home page show each video's thumbnail image, which your browser loads from YouTube (i.ytimg.com), so YouTube receives your IP address when those cards appear. Apart from these X and YouTube images and the analytics script described below, we load nothing from third parties: no other images, fonts or icons.

Analytics

When enabled, we use Plausible to count page views. It is cookie-free and does not track you across sites or build a profile of you. Analytics run only when the site is configured with a Plausible domain.

Your rights

Email the address on any email from us to see what we hold about you or to have it deleted.
